Hands-on Music Summer Camp 2017

Ever been in an iPad band before? Come jam with your friends and learn valuable music skills at the same time!

This camp combines music, technology, fun, and learning. At Hands-on Music summer camp, students perform music on iPads which are connected through a mixer and sound system like a real band.  They learn music skills such as playing by ear, note-reading, improvising and composing. I'm a certified public school music teacher and private lesson instructor who has experience directing iPad bands (see my credentials for more info).

Hands-on Music summer camp is 3 hours per day for one week.

Schedule:
July 10-14 9am-12pm for ages 10-14
July 31-Aug 4 9am-12pm for ages 6-9

Price: $150 plus cost of apps (will not exceed $25)
Students are required to bring their own iPad and it must be an Apple tablet.

After-school iPad Music Class

After-School iPad Music Class

Come make music on your iPad and jam with other kids!

This class combines music, technology, learning, and fun.

Sign up for a free demo class!

These clips are of an iPad band I directed, to give you an idea:

Who:
7-11 year olds. This is a small class with no more than 5 or 6 students.

What:
Students play music apps on their iPads together in a real band! Not only is this class fun, but students will also learn fundamental music skills like music literacy, playing by ear, improvising and composing from a certified and experienced music teacher.

Students are connected through a mixer and sound system so they can hear each other and play together in a band setting. They will also have headphones to practice on their own and with partners.

When and where:
Tuesdays at 4pm at my private residence in the medical center: Cambridge St., Houston TX.

Why:
Why the iPad instead of a more traditional instrument? Besides being really fun and convenient, it's set up to help beginning musicians have musical experiences right away, without hours of practice. It also gives you the opportunity to play many different "instruments" through the variety of apps available.

Requirements: Students will need to bring their own iPad or iPad mini to participate (it needs to be an iPad/Apple product).
